Program Description

Medicaid provides payment for health care services on behalf of eligible low-income persons and individuals with limited income and high medical expenses. Payments are made directly to the health care providers. In some cases, persons may qualify for payment of medical services that were provided up to three months before the month in which a Medicaid application was completed.

General Program Requirements

In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the state of Pennsylvania, a U.S. national, citizen or permanent resident in need of health care/insurance assistance, whose financial situation would be characterized as low income or very low income. If very low income, you must also be pregnant, have a child(ren) with a disability, or be responsible for children under the age of 19 years.
